Internal Medicine Management

Small animal internal medicine encompasses a range of diseases—both acute and chronic—involving, but not limited to, the respiratory, renal, hepatic, gastrointestinal, neurologic, cardiac, endocrine, and immune systems. Some of the more common disorders we see gastrointestinal disease, pancreatitis, chronic renal disease, hyperthyroidism, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, and cancer. These diseases can often be diagnosed and managed in general practice, but in some instances may require referral to an internal medicine specialist. Additionally we work with local specialists who provide on-site services that are integral to internal medicine at our clinic; these include radiology/ultrasound services and cardiology services.
